KEEP CALM AND GO … BOOKCROSSING

KEEP CALM AND GO … BOOKCROSSING

Keep calm and go… bookcrossing is the new creation by Keep calm and go volunteering  team.

In the picture their box inaugurated on Monday 28 March, isn’t it delicious?

It is located in the Cairoli Park, in via del Piave, in Belluno

If one day maybe you find yourself in the area …

What do you think of bookcrossing?
Have you ever donated or collected books?

Speaking of the guys from Keep calm and go volunteering, on the subject of books, Lorenzo gave me a new precious advice!

Un altro giro di giostra by Tiziano Terzani.

Do you know him?

I really hope to read it soon: Lorenzo particularly emphasizes the considerations regarding coffee and the way it is drunk while we work, a sign of a frenetic society.

I found this excerpt:
With the streets populating immediately after dawn, New York lost its enchanted air to my eyes and at times it appeared to me as a monstrous jumble of many desperate people, each one running after some dream of sad wealth or miserable happiness. By eight, Fifth Avenue, south of Central Park, a stone’s throw from my house, was already full of people. Whiffs of airport perfumes filled my nose at every woman who, running with the usual breakfast packet in hand, brushed past me to enter one of the skyscrapers. What a way to start a day! I was thinking of the Florentines who, upon entering the Petrarca Bar in Porta Romana, do not simply order a “coffee”, but a “high” coffee, or a “macchiato” one in a “glass” or in a “cup,” a creamy cappuccino without foam or «A heart of coffee in glass» and I thought of the young Francesco who pays attention to everyone’s tastes. For most in New York, the coffee is an acid soup placed in a paper cup with a plastic pacifier-shaped lid to be able to sip it, still hot. Walking.

This is surely linked also to the famous “first coffee of the day” and to the favorite way of having breakfast we were talking about.

The cup in the photo below, on the other hand, has nothing to do with breakfast, it is taken from: The Duke, another precious tip from Lorenzo, this time cinematic.

Do you agree this is a very sweet image?
Do you already know this movie?

And what would you recommend to Lorenzo and the volunteers?

MY FIRST PRODUCT TO TEST

MY FIRST PRODUCT TO TEST

My first product to try is a muesli with chocolate, a GOOD start I can say.

Generally associated with breakfast, a bit like coffee after all.

In the morning, are you the type of coffee on the go or do you rather take the time for a healthy sitting breakfast? I talk about “sitting” because considering some levels of lethargic sleep in the morning, knowing how to get up on time is not for everyone …

We could therefore divide into different types:

Fantozzi category: mentholated toothpaste on coffee flavor

or, on the contrary, all focused on extemporization

off course it also depends on the amount of hunger

or … on the rule “no carbohydrates” Miranda‘s style

alternatively: keep fit but doing sport

however it depends on the time available

So let’s go back a bit to the starting point: how long before do you get up? How many times do you postpone the alarm clock? Can you sit down to have breakfast before rushing to meet your day, or is it your day catching up with you while you are still in the r.e.m. phase?

In your opinion is it just a matter of organization or is it more a matter of attitude?

In any case, I suppose you will agree that, beyond all, the classic is timeless … at Tiffany‘s

Can you tell me what breakfast you are?

INTERNATIONAL COFFEE DAY

INTERNATIONAL COFFEE DAY

Every year on October 1st, the international day is intended to celebrate coffee and recognize the millions of people around the world: farmers, roasters, baristas, coffeehouse owners and more, who work hard to create and serve the drink we love.

International Coffee Organization dedicates the focus of the 2020 edition to a collective mission to help coffee farmers around the world to receive a fair and viable income with the program Coffee’s next generation to specifically support the next generation of young producers.

Catarina explains it better:

In case you are interested, here is a small summary of some scheduled events:

Starbucks Reserve Roastery Milan offers a coffee tasting of the “Anniversary Blend” but pay attention to the specific time slots: from 9 a.m. to 9.30, from 11 a.m. to 11.30, from 2 p.m. to 2.30 and from 4 p.m. to 4.30, excluding the Malpensa Terminal 1 and Cordusio premises.

Talent Garden Calabiana organizes an outdoor community breakfast sponsored by Lavazza.

Cimbali  will host the first live broadcast of the Italian Coffee Network full of interviews, demonstrations and webinars in collaboration with the trainers of the Mumac Academy, organized by Istituto Espresso Italiano, SCA Italy and Consorzio di Tutela del Caffé Espresso

On the other hand, at Caffé Gambrinus, the From the bean to the cup event has unfortunately been canceled.
Just as on the Milano Caffè website nothing appears.
And it is a real shame because never before would it be appropriate to encourage the cafes that have been particularly affected.

For this reason I find the initiative of La Genovese Caffé nice: Offer a coffee to your bartender which proposes to overturn the roles leaving for once a suspended coffee for the one who prepares it, in order to express closeness and sympathy.

Or more simply as indicated here
On October 1st, World Coffee Day, users are invited to take a photo or screenshot of their coffee date and post it and tag @juliusmeinlofficial to support a global cause.
For each contribution that uses the @juliusmeinlofficial tag during the campaign period, be it a comment, post or story, Julius Meinl will contribute € 1 (or the equivalent in USD) in support of Worldreader up to a total of 11,534 $ (Eleven Thousand Five One hundred and thirty-four US dollars).

Another BEAUTIFUL THING is: Meet with a poem!

Among other things, speaking of poems, I could tag important friends.

The explanation of the initiative appears on the website: Julius Meinl who is the organizer and foresees a poem to be written together with a dear friend to receive two special coffees in exchange.

But ours are always special coffees, right !?
