THUNDERBOLTS*

THUNDERBOLTS*

Thunderbolts* released in cinemas, will the MCU succeed in electrifying audiences?

My husband, my son and I went into the theatre hoping to see a Marvel movie that could interrupt the drift of recent years.

Thunderbolts* name inspired by an anecdote told in a scene.

But the asterisk?

The asterisk brings the film full circle, as if it were a palindrome.

Originally in fact the title of the film was *The New Avengers

Thunderbolts*

But *The New Avengers become Thunderbolts* by their very nature, they are not actually classic superheroes.

Not Super Not Heroes

Yelena Belova = Black Widow
James Buchanan Barnes = Bucky – Winter Soldier
Alexei Shostakov = Red Guardian
John Walker = U.S. Agent
Antonia Dreykov = Taskmaster
Ava Starr = Ghost

and then Bob i.e. Robert Reynolds = Sentry

Bob encompasses strength and fragility, simplicity and complication, naughtiness and goodness, with a nerdy air about him.

The actor who embodies Bob is Lewis Pullman.

Yes: Pullman son of Bill, memorable performer of various loser roles.

Do you remember any of the films Bill Pullman starred in?

The resemblance made me smile

But Bob embodies the dark abyss of the burden of life that deflects the movie into something extremely difficult to portray.

I particularly liked Florence Pugh for the way she mixed depression and irony.

On the other hand, David Harbour is pumped, as well as businesslike 🙂

So is Thunderbolts* electrifying?

My husband is not entirely convinced, for my son it’s a yes, and what do you think?

FLIGHT PLAN

FLIGHT PLAN

Flight plan, a title but also a promise.

Flight plan, a gift.

I’ve already told you about these special birthday presents,  I’ve already told you about these concerts with my brother and sister-in-law, with all the heart

This time the “flight plan” was to return to Novara, at Teatro Coccia.

Piano di volo

The “pilot”, as always more precise than a Swiss watch, started singing at nine p.m. sharp going on until after midnight, without drinking, without pause, without tiredness.

The Ten Fingers we know, games of light and so much to tell.

Piano di volo

Flight is lightness, and immediately “the little wings that learn to fly” are all those who listen and become glider hearts.

Flight is freedom, the ability to laugh at oneself and consequently also at one’s audience. Blessed irony.

But most of all I want to tell you about the opportunity to be so close that you can unmistakably see the face of a happy artist.

You can’t fake smiles like that: the first to have fun was him, with all his years of music and jewel-like lyrics, amused among the people and fully satisfied with singing, nothing else.

Do you ever feel that way?

George Bernard Show wrote happy is the man who can make a living by his hobby.

Difficult?
Very difficult. But not impossible.

These are the words of a slightly lesser-known song:

Never ever be afraid
Of being afraid
This journey is an adventure
The illusion of a mirage
But you swear you have courage
And that you will always care
Of your slightly wild heart
Now and while this blue rain lasts
Blue rain
Blue rain

What’s your flight plan?

HAPPINESS

HAPPINESS

Happiness is the title of the latest reading I owe Monica.

What is happiness for you?

The answer to this question is always very subjective.

What if happiness was a widespread state of mind that involved everyone?

The author of the book: Will Ferguson outlines his hypothesis of what would happen if everyone was happy in a short time.

How? Through a manual: the happiness manual.

Do you think we would need it?

The protagonist of the book: an editor who receives the manuscript of this manual and immediately trashes it, but then …

Everything is told with an irony that distinguished this entertaining read while maintaining an important underlying reflection.

I would particularly like to point out the publishing house: Accènto

Founded by Alessandro Cattelan, this independent publishing house has among its projects, the objective of translating books that are missing from the Italian market, as in this case.

Besides the humour, this book gave me a small discovery, which with my love for words, and for words in different languages, I really appreciated:

May had recently edited a bizarre dictionary of obscure terms for Panderic. The title was The Untranslatables, and it was a playful survey of certain terms absent from the English language. Whole feelings, whole concepts that remained unexpressed for the simple reason that no word had ever been coined to define them. Words like ‘mono-no-awarè,’ ‘the sadness of things,’ a Japanese term that defined the eternal pathos that peeps just below the surface of life. Words like ‘mokita,’ which in the Kiriwina language of New Guinea means ‘the truth that no one talks about.’ It refers to the tacit agreement, between two or more people, to avoid explicit references to a well-known secret…

Do you also know any untranslatables?

ITALY SLOW TOUR

ITALY SLOW TOUR

Italy Slow Tour is a website, Italy Slow Tour is a YouTube channel, Italy Slow Tour is much more.

How can you encapsulate two people like Syusy Blady and Patrizio Roversi in a single description?

Syusy describes herself as an eclectic artist, journalist, actress, TV presenter and whatever else pops into her head.

Let’s say that a lot of interesting things have popped into that mind so far.

Patrizio‘s bio is a narcissistic double-edged carping exhibitionist complex.

So it seems quite natural how Patrizio could have been thunderstruck by Maurizia while literally ruling a group of kids on the beach in that Stop Model splendour that we would all later discover.

The union of two diametrically opposed yet inextricably complementary personalities.

Together they gave us programmes like Lone Wolf or The Arab Phoenix that made history, and became The Travellers par excellence.

Tourists by chance.

Before Beijing Express, before the Travel Bloggers, before the Digital Nomads, Patrizio and Syusy taught us the true spirit of Travel

Thanks to them, we saw distant and unseen places, discovered real life, observed food, learned customs and traditions.

Experiences based on two unfailing ingredients: respect and irony

Syusy and Patrizio’s irony is something I have always loved, which is why I recommend you follow their Syusy and Patrizio News

A condensation of useful and interesting information told with their way of being themselves: Tourists by chance but Artists by merit.

LIKE THE BIRDS OF CINDERELLA’S DRESS

LIKE THE BIRDS OF CINDERELLA’S DRESS

Like the birds of Cinderella’s dress … is the comparison Sabrina Impacciatore used during an interview at the Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

Listen:

I really like this way of her being ironically crazy.

This attitude of laughter brings good humour, don’t you think?

The perfect friend for messing around …

Speaking of friendship … have you ever seen “Amiche da morire – Friends to Die For?”

I would say that Sicily is a congenial place for Sabrina: the season of The White Lotus for which Sabrina received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series is filmed in Taormina.

In the interview Sabrina tells that her dress was fitted the night before by tailors like the birds of Cinderella’s dress, and also declares that her victory is to be there, but we can say that another great shot is her participation in the upcoming film In the head of Dante with Al Pacino and John Malkovich.

Who knows, maybe the Fairy godmother has a hand in it… 🙂

And you? Have you ever lived a fairy tale?

I could tell I live perpetually in the mess, but isn’t it the real fairy tale?

Gianni Rodari wrote:
Where are the fairy tales?
There is one in everything:
in the wood of the coffee table,
in the glass, in the rose.

Where can you see the fairy tales?
